Chrissy Knopp, LCSW
Therapist in NYC
Chrissy (she/her) is a warm, enthusiastic clinician who supports people in exploring their potential with curiosity, empathy, and acceptance. She believes we, as humans, require less fixing and less criticism; we are already the experts of our own lives and often can benefit from a little more self-compassion. Chrissy uses a strengths-based, relational approach to empower people to engage in their own growth, deepen their understanding of who they are, and explore who they want to be.
Chrissy has worked with individuals around struggles with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, life stage changes, relationships, and trauma. She has also worked with couples in couples therapy, supporting them in decreasing conflict and improving their communication and intimacy. Additionally, Chrissy has worked with people during the family building years and supporting them with perinatal mental health.
Through her post-graduate training at The Ackerman Institute for the Family, she has gained an extensive understanding of postmodern family systems theories and a collaborative, relational approach to therapy. Additionally, she is training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and in Perinatal Grief and Loss with the Seleni Institute to better support families during the family building years. Chrissy received her Masters in Social Work from The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and her bachelors of science from Ohio State University.
