Jared aims to help clients build their internal resources as they navigate challenging situations, resulting in improved self-awareness, resiliency, and psychological flexibility. He understands that trust and vulnerability are foundational to effective therapy and creates a safe, compassionate space where clients feel comfortable being authentic and at ease. Jared’s clients learn to define and create a more fulfilling life for themselves. Sometimes that means compassionately challenging his clients to see patterns and contradictions in their life, or to learn from their pain. Other times, it’s about laughing together or sharing meaningful silence.
Jared’s style is grounded in evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. His practice is further enriched by specialized training in eastern traditions of meditation and mindfulness, as well as Dungeons and Dragons Therapy/Tabletop Role Playing Therapy (TTRPT). This dynamic skill set allows him to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and achieve greater life satisfaction. His clinical interests encompass the modern challenges young adults face in their careers, identities, and relationships. Jared finds that excessive screen time often plays a role in causing or worsening mental health struggles. However, his expertise extends to individuals of all ages struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma.
A graduate of Wake Forest University, Jared earned a BA with Honors in Psychology and went on to complete a Master’s in clinical mental health counseling. Jared is a National Certified Counselor, an award recognizing his continued commitment to high standards of counseling. Jared has presented research at national conferences on topics including Virtual Reality Therapy and TTRPT. He also is a mental health consultant and education content creator for InnerPeak AI, an artificial intelligence company that bridges the gap in mental health support for students. His background as an award-winning meditation teacher and co-founder of a neurofeedback bioware startup underscores his commitment to mindfulness and evidence-based practice.
