Meet Alexandra Kate Eisenberg, LMHC

Adolescent & Adult Therapist

Alexandra Kate Eisenberg is a licensed mental health counselor committed to practicing ethical and empathic models of psychotherapeutic care for adults, children, and adolescents. In providing identity-affirming treatment with respect for the subjective experiences of her clients, she combines a willingness to listen with a collaborative rather than corrective treatment approach.

Alexandra primarily utilizes a psychodynamic therapeutic approach, while behavioral therapy principles and philosophical concepts of selfhood continually inform her practice. It is her belief that life is a process of becoming and that therapy can help promote awareness and contemplation of ourselves and our experiences as we evolve and confront problems. She has extensive experience in crisis intervention and works with individuals who have emotional and behavioral concerns related to self-image, depression and anxiety, interpersonal relationships, substance use, and complex traumatic stress.

Alexandra has a master’s degree in mental health counseling from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in the history of art from Bryn Mawr College. She has worked and volunteered in a variety of clinical settings in both New York City and South Carolina, providing both individual and group treatments for diverse populations. She is also a passionate yogi and registered yoga teacher who believes in the power of different movement experiences to effect positive changes in physical and mental wellbeing.
