Alexandra Kate Eisenberg, LMHC

Alexandra Kate Eisenberg is a licensed mental health counselor committed to practicing ethical and empathic models of psychotherapeutic care for adolescents and adults. She provides individual therapy that highlights her clients’ subjective experiences, combining a willingness to listen with a collaborative rather than corrective treatment approach. It is her belief that life is a process of becoming and that therapy promotes awareness and contemplation of ourselves and our experiences as we evolve and confront problems and difficult emotions.

Alexandra utilizes a primarily psychodynamic therapeutic approach in the treatment of emotional and behavioral concerns related to self-image, depression and anxiety, and interpersonal relationships. She also integrates principles of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral and Exposure-Based Therapies to address many of these concerns as well as those related to obsessive compulsive and related disorders, substance use, and complex traumatic stress. She has extensive experience in crisis intervention and maintains a focused interest in working with gender non-conforming adolescents and young adults who aim to explore and gain insight into their identities.

Alexandra has a Master’s degree in mental health counseling from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in the history of art from Bryn Mawr College. She has worked and volunteered in a variety of clinical settings in New York City and South Carolina, providing individual and group treatments for diverse populations. She is also a registered yoga teacher who believes in the power of combining mindfulness and movement experiences to effect positive changes in physical and mental well-being.
