Samantha Tarry

Therapist In Training Licensed Social Work Candidate
Samantha Tarry

Samantha is in her final year of the Master of Social Work program at Columbia University, where she explores evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices. She fosters an atmosphere of trust and comfort, encouraging clients to bring their full selves into the room so they can work together toward healing and growth. Her clinical focus includes working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma. Samantha takes a collaborative and strengths-based approach, supporting clients as they explore their experiences, navigate challenges, and build a life that feels meaningful.

Her clinical experience includes counseling for adolescents as they navigated peer relationships, academic pressures, and difficult moments of self-discovery. Prior to clinical work, Samantha worked in human resources where she guided individuals toward achieving professional success while maintaining balance in their personal lives. This is a perspective she now brings into her therapy practice to help clients set boundaries, manage stress, and communicate effectively, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Both within and outside of her practice, Samantha values a holistic approach to wellness. She enjoys fostering moments of connection, honoring the importance of rest and restorative activities, and staying engaged with new perspectives that deepen her clinical expertise.
