Jared’s approach to psychotherapy is based on three core principles: validation, resilience, and relief from suffering. Jared begins by making each patient feel seen and understood. This kind of empathic validation builds self-acceptance and confidence. By creating a space where clients can be vulnerable, honest, and free from judgment, patients learn to forge more authentic relationships outside of treatment.

Resilience, or the ability to overcome and learn from obstacles, is built when we confront life’s difficulties rather than avoid them. Jared helps clients develop the psychological strength and flexibility to tolerate challenging emotions — anxiety, depression, and stress, rather than retreating from them. By identifying core values and motivations, he works with clients to break cycles of emotional avoidance that sustain negative patterns. This is a deeply individualized process, and Jared is always guided by the pace each client sets.

Relief is what’s needed when your bandwidth simply isn’t there. Drawing on more than a decade of personal practice and teaching in meditation and mindfulness, Jared offers practical tools for helping clients find calm and steadiness even in the hardest moments. From that place of ease, bandwidth is restored, along with feelings of vitality and openness to new experiences.

Jared works with adults ages 18–60 across a wide range of cultures and orientations. His caseload typically includes anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD and autism spectrum, depressive disorders, trauma and adjustment disorders, and substance and behavioral addictions. Jared has training and certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention therapy, Attachment Theory, and TableTop Roleplaying Therapy.

A graduate of Wake Forest University, Jared holds a BA with Honors in Psychology and a Master’s in clinical mental health counseling. He is a fully licensed mental health counselor, National Certified Counselor, and co-director of Meditation and Mindfulness programming at The Midtown Practice. Jared has received awards for his meditation teaching from the Maharishi Foundation. He has presented research at national conferences, co-founded a neurofeedback bioware startup, and serves as a mental health consultant and content creator for InnerPeak AI, an AI mental health company.
