Chrissie Brewer is an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for adolescents, young adults, and adults across the lifespan. With extensive training in psychiatric nursing, psychotherapy, and medication management, Chrissie offers personalized treatment plans designed to support emotional wellness, resilience, and long-term mental health.
Chrissie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduating Cum Laude from Connecticut College before continuing her advanced psychiatric nursing education at Columbia University School of Nursing. There, she completed both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Psychiatric/Mental Health Advanced Nursing Practice. During her clinical training and work as a Registered Nurse, she gained experience at leading New York City institutions, including New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell and Payne Whitney Westchester.
Specializing in mental health treatment for young adults and individuals navigating major life transitions, Chrissie takes a holistic and collaborative approach to psychiatric care. She considers each client’s emotional, medical, interpersonal, familial, and psychosocial background when developing individualized treatment recommendations.
Treatment may include psychiatric evaluation, psychotropic medication management, and psychotherapy-informed care, while also emphasizing lifestyle factors that support mental wellness, including nutrition, exercise, sleep, mindfulness, and healthy relationships. Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based practices to help clients strengthen coping skills, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. Chrissie has experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, Anxiety disorders, Depression and other mood disorders, PTSD, OCD, and Personality Disorders.
